The MOC3012 optocoupler is an optically isolated triac driver that features a gallium arsenide (GaAs) infrared LED optically coupled to a silicon bilateral switch (triac). This device is designed for interfacing low voltage logic to 115/240 VAC applications, such as driving resistive and inductive loads including motors, solenoids, and lamps.
